There is an option to recycle appliances though! Please call Junky Business at 832-377-5865 and Pete will come and pick up your water-damaged refrigerator, washer or dryer for free!We would also like to encourage local residents to bring their unusable electronics to the next E-Waste collection event at Kingwood Park & Ride Metro lot on Saturday October 7th, from 9am to 3pm. And please hold on to your old paint buckets, motor & cooking oil, rechargeable batteries, car batteries and any antifreeze until the next B.O.P.A. collection from 9am to 1pm on Saturday, October 28th. On the same day, from 10am to 2pm the DEA will conduct their bi-annually Drug-Take-Back event, also at the park & ride.
We are absolutely heartbroken by the devastation in the Greater Houston Area, Harris County and our beloved Kingwood.
We are also saddened by the knowledge that the vast majority of all damaged appliances and electronics will end up in the Atascocita landfill. Sadly, absolutely nothing is being recycled, since the City of Houston’s Solid Waste Department and Waste Management are simply not equipped to handle the shear volume of trash and recyclable materials, except for carting everything to the landfill.
