Recently the Tribune Newspapers ran a comprehensive article about recycling in the area and specifically about Kingwood.  We worked with the reporter to share our knowledge of what is happening not only in Kingwood but all across the world.  A number of stories in major newspapers and other media have focused on the fact that China is no longer taking much of our recyclable materials.  The implication is that because of this move on their part, many recyclables are now going to the landfill.  The Tribune correspondent, Jacqueline Havelka, has done a good job of separating fact from fiction.  She explains why this has happened and what we can do to improve our recycling habits.  Yes, if we throw things in the recycling bin that are not accepted they will have to go to the landfill.  So we at Keep Kingwood Green say please Recycle Right!  The City of Houston is leading the way with new recycling options that will be available to their customers beginning in mid 2019.  Please go to this link to see the Tribune article.  http://www.ourtribune.com/headlines/20754-a-rash-of-recycling.html
