NEWS ALERT

Save Houston Curbside Recycling!

The City Council will vote on the Future of Curbside Recycling in Houston this week

Please act to help save Houston curbside recycling! It is under attack again!

Houston City Council is scheduled to vote this week on a new contract for the City's curbside recycling program.  Because commodity prices are currently depressed, some on City Council have proposed suspending the curbside recycling program

After a decade of improvements & expansion of curbside recycling, suspending the program would be a giant step backwards. This would also be false economy.  Suspending the program and then trying to restart would lead to significant costs as well.

Even though a lot of neighborhoods in Kingwood do not have City of Houston Curbside Recycling services - we could all be affected by potentially losing our Weekend Recycling Services at the METRO Park & Ride!

Please contact our Council Member Dave Martin, who may be on the fence. Call him at 832-393-3008 and send him an email.

And please call your Council Member and tell them to vote yes on Agenda Item #35 this week to keep curbside recycling services.

It is especially important to contact all 5 of the At Large Council Members, particular Mike Knox, At Large 1, who is one of the proponents of the move to suspend the program.

Mike Knox, 832-393-3014
David Robinson, 832-393-3013
Michael Kubosh, 832-393-3005
Amanda Edwards, 832-393-3012
Jack Christie, 832-393-3017

And Mayor Sylvester Turner, 713-837-0311

Thank you!
